Under the Sea Party
Have an Under the Sea Party at home, a nearby park, beach, or aquarium. An Under the Sea Party can be geared to various ages, Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, or Spongebob for younger children, sharks and oceanography for older children.
Make invitations in shape of sand dollar or starfish, with a drawing or photo of fish, shark, octopus, whale, or undersea scenery. If delivering invitations, roll message like a scroll and put in a bottle with a bit of sand and shells.
Decorate with sea shells, paper or plastic fish, sharks, whales and blue and silver streamers and balloons.
Games & Activities
Play beach ball toss or water balloon toss. Have a treasure hunt. Set up an area for sand play and giant bubble blowing.
Arts & Crafts
Make shell collages by gluing shells, driftwood, and other found items on blue paper. Make sea urchins by sticking wooden tooth picks in half a styro foam ball and painting purple when done. Make an undersea mural with paint or sidewalk chalk. Create sea animals out of modeling clay.
Under the Sea Party Refreshments
Serve peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, gold fish crackers, seedless grapes and 7-up floats (scoop of ice cream in 7-up with a straw). Make a fish cake or under the sea cake.
Under the Sea Party Favors
Send guests home with sand toys, beach balls, sunglasses, water squirters, plastic toy sea animals or toy boats.
